Spring has sprung - spring outdoor activities at Fun Box Day Nursery

With the first warm rays of sunshine, spring has arrived at Fun Box Day Nursery, bringing a delightful array of outdoor activities for our children. 🌞


Gardening Adventures

Our little gardeners have been busy planting and watering beans in our nursery garden. They put the soil and seeds into their pots inside and moved them to the nursery garden later. They also tried to write their names on the support lolly sticks so they would recognise their own plants later. Through this hands-on experience, they've learned about the essentials plants need to grow: soil, water, and sunshine. This activity has enriched their Understanding of the World, as outlined in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.🌱




Exploring 'Creepy Crawlies'

The soil became a hub of discovery as children encountered various 'creepy crawlies'. They counted the legs of these tiny creatures and matched them to corresponding numbers, enhancing their Mathematical Developmen. This exploration sparked curiosity and fostered a deeper connection with natur. 🐛




Potato Shape Printing

Creativity flourished with our potato shape printing activiy. Children explored different shapes and used potato stamps to create unique patters This simple yet engaging activity further developed their understanding of shapes and supported their creative expressin. 🥔🎨




Ice Block Number Hunt

A thrilling ice block number hunt had children breaking apart ice to find hidden numes. This activity combined sensory play with number recognition, offering a fun and educational experience that captivated their attenion.❄️🔢




Water Play with Sea Creaturs

Water play sessions introduced children to various sea creatures in our builder'stay. They engaged in imaginative play and learned about marine life, fostering both their creativity and understanding of the natural orld.🐠




Shape Collages in the Garen

Our young artists created shape collages using materials found in the aden. This activity encouraged them to observe and identify different shapes in their environment, enhancing their spatial awareness and artistic kills.🔺🔷




Red Nose Day Celebrtion

We concluded the week by celebrating Red Nose Day, where children crafted their own red noses using padough. This fun-filled activity not only supported their fine motor skills but also introduced them to the joy of charitabl event.🔴😊




As spring blossoms at Fun Box Day Nursery, our outdoor adventures have not only brought joy but also enriched the children's understanding of the world. Through activities like planting beans, exploring insects, and creating shape collages, we've seamlessly blended play with learning, fostering curiosity and growth in each child. 🌷
