February 2025 Half-Term Fun at Fun Box!

Despite the chilly February weather, we had an absolutely fantastic February 2025 half-term week with the children at Fun Box! ☔✨

February 2025 Half-Term Activity 1: Numicon

Throughout the week, we engaged in a variety of enriching activities designed to support children's development while ensuring they had plenty of fun. One of our key focuses was strengthening early mathematical skills using Numicon—a fantastic hands-on resource that helps children visualise numbers and numerical relationships. February 2025 Half-Term Activity 2: Foam Painting

Creativity was also in full swing as the children explored an exciting new painting technique using shaving foam and paint. This sensory-rich activity not only encouraged artistic expression but also supported fine motor skills and sensory exploration—key elements within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. The vibrant swirls and marbled patterns they created were truly spectacular! 🎨🖌️

February 2025 Half-Term Activity 3: Visit to the Pet Shop

The highlight of our week was undoubtedly our visit to the neighbouring pet shop, Creatures Comforts. The children were completely mesmerised by the colourful fish and a variety of fascinating small animals. Observing and learning about different creatures provided an excellent opportunity for fostering curiosity and early science understanding, in line with the EYFS focus on Understanding the World. 🐠🐹
