A little poem about how Autumn came to Fun Box...
Autumn came and brought with her
A basket full of gold
— Crimson apples, plums like jewels,
And pears so ripe and bold.
The hedgerows wore their ruby beads,
The brambles stitched with black,
While cobweb threads held morning dew
A silken, silver track.
The garden hummed with whispered tales
Of roots that dug down deep,
Potatoes snug beneath the soil,
Carrots curled in sleep.

Fat pumpkins beamed with jolly grins
In orange, round delight,
While marrows swelled like summer dreams
And squash grew plump and bright.

We brewed up potions, warm and sweet,
From elderberries dark,
And stirred the petals, leaves, and fruit
Beneath the oak tree's bark.

Steam wove spells into the air,
As rosehips bled their red,
And lavender lent dreams to chase
When we lay down in bed.
The wind would dance through amber trees
And tug us by the hand—
A playful friend, a wistful breeze,
That knew the shifting land.
Bonfires blazed and crackled bright,
Smoke curling into dusk,
While chestnuts roasted in their shells,
A nutty, warming musk.

And though the days grew short and cool,
And summer's laughter waned,
The earth gave forth her treasure trove—
A gift that still remained.

So Autumn came, and with her hand,
She painted fields anew—
A gentle call to gather close
Before the frost breaks through.
